With such outstanding underwater suites, it isn’t a surprise to hear that the three stories suite has been featured in several films and TV shows. It also has an aboveground roof that has a grassy treecovered area for tired guests to rest and relax. While the Manta resort is located on the west coast of Pemba Island, the Manta underwater room is not attached to the building. Instead, it’s in the middle of the ocean, within the resort’s perimeters. The floating villa is only accessible from the mainland by boat. It’s submerged 4 meters under the surface of the Indian Ocean. This unique room was designed by Swede Mikael Genberg and was adopted in different countries like the Maldives and Florida until Zanzibar got the privilege to open such a room in Africa. The structure of the suite isn’t far from the Muraka Villa of the Maldives. The bedroom is underwater and has a 360° view of the Indian Ocean, so don’t be shocked when you see squids and octopuses passing through your window. As for the rooftop, you can use it to sunbathe or stargaze at night.
