starcraft 2 maps: คุณกำลังดูกระทู้
There are about hundred of custom maps in the Starcraft 2 Arcade Mode. Many of these maps that people made might not have been played, since everyone are always playing the same custom game maps. Never hurts to give new custom maps a chance. After digging around and trying out many different custom maps, I found 10 custom maps that I enjoy playing which I believe you should try at least once.
1 – Monobattles
Enjoy playing Starcraft with different unit types? Then how about playing a game of Starcraft with only one unit type? In Monobattles, players start off by selecting one unit that they will build throughout the whole game. Then battle it out with the enemy, who also only select their own single unit. This leads to chaotic and interesting matches, where conventional builds will no longer work, when your task is to build a single unit throughout the whole game.
2 – Micro Macro
Can you trust someone else to micro or macro for you? In Micro Macro, four players are pitted against each other in a normal game of Starcraft, but with a twist! One person takes on the role of micro, while the other player takes on the role of Macro. In order to win, both players need to work together. This is fun and also good practice for regular Starcraft 2 games, as it allows players to work on improving their macro and micro skills.
3 – Squadron Tower Defense
By: Swentz and Celois
Genre: Tower Defense
Currently the top played custom game in Starcraft 2 arcade in NA, but for good reason of course, since Squadron Tower Defense is a new interesting way of playing tower defense. Instead of building towers that stand still that doesn’t really move. Each round, the player’s towers become a unit that moves and attacks the enemy. So building the right towers and tower placement is important. Also, having many different types of builders and towers to explore, helps make Squadron Tower Defense easily a addicting game to play.
4 – Nexus Word Wars
Genre: Tug Of War
The goal is quite simple. Destroy the enemy Nexus to win. But it’s not always that simple, when it comes to custom games. In Nexus Word Wars, your biggest weapon is your keyboard and mind. Since the only way to stop the enemy advance toward your Nexus, is by typing the characters that appear above their heads. If you are able to type really fast, this wouldn’t be much of a challenge for you. In the swarm of letters, there are also difficult math problems that you need to solve. Do you think you can survive when enemy is sending swarms of difficult math problems at you?
5 – Desert Strike
Genre: Tug Of War
In Desert Strike, players will have to build structure that helps produce units at a given time period. The more structure and higher tech structure a player has, the bigger their army will appear in the battle arena. In order to destroy the enemy base, players have to overcome the opponent’s army that stands before them. Building the right units to counter the enemy is the key to victory, because using a single type of unit isn’t really effective once the enemy starts to counter your army. It’s best to mix-up your army composition and save your specials for the right moments.
6 – Haunted Forest
Inspired by the game of Slender, players must work together to gather all the crates and avoid eye contact with their pursuer. Instead of an overhead view, the player is placed into a first person view. This game is best played with friends, since communication is very important and also it’s always funny to hear your friends scream, when they are taken by their pursuer. It’s best to play the game in the dark with headphones, just to build the correct atmosphere. A good important tip to follow, never look behind you when you know you’re being followed.
7 – Nexus Wars
Genre: Tug Of War
The idea for Nexus wars is simple, like any other tug of war game. You must build units to destroy the enemy Nexus to win. There are many different methods a person could use to reach victory. Each player is given one defensive nuke to use and a worker that allows them to build from three different races. This makes Nexus Wars a quick and simple addicting custom game.
8 – Kobold Tribes
Two Kobold tribes are fighting for control over the land. Players will play the role of a Kobold. As they try to survive the hash life. Whoever tribe is the last one standing is the victorious. What makes Kobold tribe so addicting is the survival aspect, since player needs to explore around for resources to build their own village and also be aware of their own Kobold health and condition. The moment you are not paying attention to the condition of your Kobold, nature might just end up claiming the life of your Kobold.
9 – Desert Tower Defense [TD]
Genre: Tower Defense
A classic take on tower defense, from the old Warcraft 3 custom maps. Players build towers in their lanes to prevent the enemy from reaching the center of the map. With the total of 50 lives, players will need to defend themselves from air units and ground units. By using different combination of towers in stopping the enemy of different types, having the right placement of towers becomes a key factor in building a solid defense and also keeping up with the tower upgrades. This isn’t really a beginner friendly map, but after playing it multiple times, you’ll soon find yourself getting better overtime.
10 – Marine Arena 2
By: Roman and Josin
In Marine Arena, players control their own group of Marine units and try to overcome their opponents with upgrades and their micro control. From the classic game type in Broodwars and Warcraft 3, Marine Arena is a competitive custom game that is fun to play with friends. Since many of the battles can become chaotic overtime, there might be moments when there are too many units on the screen that it causes lag. So it’s best to play this game with a lower setting to avoid lag. Overall it’s a fast and fun custom game to play.
There are many custom games in the Starcraft 2 Acrade, which I have yet to explore. But these are my favorite types of games to play with friends or alone. There are always new and interesting custom games being added to the arcade. Finding a good one is always hard, but it never hurts to give these custom game maps a try.
[Update] The best Starcraft II mods available now | starcraft 2 maps – Vietnamnhanvan
Yesterday Blizzard revealed the three custom game modes they’ve designed using the StarCraft 2 editing tools. However good they turn out to be, they’ll struggle to compete with the wealth of player-made offerings made over the past 6 months using the same kit. The community has done some amazing things. There are mods out there that can turn StarCraft 2 into a fully fledged RPG, a survival horror, a tower defence game or even a game of space combat. Read on for our pick of eight of the best.
To get hold of these mods, start up StarCraft 2, head to the multiplayer section and select ‘join a game’ in the custom game panel at the bottom right. Then simply search for the mods below. When you join a game the map will be downloaded automatically.
1. Income Wars
There are a ton of great custom tug-of-war maps, including the magnificent Nexus Wars, but Income wars pips its rivals by escalating the tug-of-war idea to an insane scale. It’s a 2v2 map in which each player must chose one unit to spawn. All units head towards the enemy down a single lane, and kills grant each team money to spend on more advanced troops. Each wave becomes more and more massive until the whole battlefield becomes a warzone, with hundreds of troops battling for supremacy. Each player has a last ditch nuclear option with which to wipe out a wave that’s too close to home base. If you want to see a single nuclear explosion wiping out 77 Terran Battleships, Income Wars is the mod for you.
2. Marine Arena
As Marine Arena proves, you can never have too many marines. This 2v2 map gives each player a single building that relentlessly churns out marines. Every enemy marine killed scoops resources that can be used to upgrade your marines, or, if you’re feeling blasphemous, spawn a unit that isn’t a marine. Marine Arena gets the edge on the many other auto-spawn custom games with its brilliantly designed map. A central, raised point contains a healing node which can be taken for an obvious advantage, while four raised sections on each side offer a secondary tactical objective. After a while there are skirmishes all over the map as each team tests the other’s weak points. This map couples strategic intrigue with millions and millions of marines, which can only be a good thing.
3. Zerg Hunter
This is a fully fledged 1 to 4 player RPG created entirely using StarCraft 2’s characters and abilities. You can choose from one of a number of character classes, from assassins to tanks, and go out into the world, completing quests and killing Zerg for experience. Every time you level up you get a point to spend in your character’s skill tree, and you can return to base at any time to spend your hard earned cash on bigger and better weapons. It’s Diablo dressed in StarCraft 2’s robes.
4. Star Battle
There are many Defence of the Ancients style custom maps, but only one is set in space. Star Battle offers a faster and less complicated version of your traditional Dota experience. and, I’ll mention this again, it’s in space . Each player controls a vessel. Your aim is to support the stream of attacking NPC ships as they try to take out the enemy space station. Your vessel’s weapons can be upgraded as the fight goes on, and each ship can carry a number of its own fighters for fire support.
Tower defence mods have been a proud tradition in Blizzard games ever since Warcraft III. Green TD is the best of the current bunch in StarCraft 2 thanks to its huge and cleverly designed map. The numerous starting positions offer varying degrees of difficulty, meaning newbies and veterans can play alongside each other. The aim is to place a series of towers in your patch to eliminate the waves of troops marching down the long, meandering road. Each one that crosses the threshold at the end will cost the team one of 50 lives. Each wave of enemies is weak to a different variety of tower, which means you’ll need to manage your resources wisely and plan ahead if you want to win.
6. Night of the Dead
Night of the UNdead would be a more accurate name for this StarCraft 2 custom map. Space zombies have struck, as they often do, and it’s your job to band up with some team mates and roll out into the night to cleanse the streets of the undead menace. But what about peace? why can’t we talk to the space zombies? You can, using a series of upgraded weapons and special abilities, you can speak them using the universal language of bullets, and make peace by killing everything that isn’t you. This is StarCraft 2 as survival horror. Stick together, keep your flashlights pointed in all directions and don’t stop shooting.
7. Raynor Party
Why is Raynor party so great? Allow me to direct you to the image above. Yes, that’s a siege tank carrying a huge bunch of bananas. That’s just one of ten multiplayer minigames that make up this quick fire custom map. Players take it in turns to pick a game. The challenges range from racing events to arena deathmatches in which each player must throw their opponents into an abyss using gravity powers. And yes, that is as much fun as it sounds.
8. Storm of the Imperial Sanctum
Storm of the Imperial stars wins awards for both having the most impressive name, and being the most accomplished Dota style custom map for StarCraft 2. The 5v5 map, with its numerous lanes, automated NPC troops and its defensive towers, closely resembles the original Defence of the Ancients map for Warcraft III. Of course, the heroes and creeps are all made up of StarCraft 2 units, and the many, many upgrades on offer for your character and your NPC troops all have a sci-fi flavour. If you’ve never played a Defence of the Ancients style map before there’s no tutorial to guide you, but if you’re familiar with the game mode, Storm of the Imperial Stars is a great modern take on a classic formula.
That’s just eight of the hundreds of great StarCraft 2 mods and maps in the Battlenet databse. Which ones are your favourites?
StarCraft: Brood War 1v7 Melee: Terran vs. Random (Remastered)
First time to play remastered so I just have to do my favorite thing in StarCraft 1v7 melee mode using Terran! ^_^
Last time I did this a few days ago, it was all Zerg. This time, I’m spicing up a little bit so I made them random.
